El grupo UTOPIA nace en enero del
2011 con la necesidad reemprender la escencia del rock boliviano, dejando de
lado esa influencia argentina-mexicana que tanto influye en nuestro medio
musical, incorporando toques y matices muy particulares y propios de Bolivia.
Con la
iniciativa de Marco Oro quien en primera instancia tocaba la guitarra, fue
quien invito a un amigo de colegio, Álvaro Choquetarqui el cual empezó a
aportar con los vientos (zampoña, quena),
dándole una relación con lo autóctono y posteriormente se fue encargando
de la parte vocal.
Es así que en febrero de 2011
Cesar Condarco llega al grupo a interpretar la guitarra eléctrica por una invitación de Marco quien pasó a interpretar
el bajo.
José Antonio Rosas quien fue el
baterista desde inicios, abandona la banda por motivos de estudio y trabajo y
es así Carlos pasa a ser parte de la banda a pedido de José Antonio para no
perjudicar a la banda.
A lo largo de todo ese tiempo que
se aposto por las composiciones tales como: “Apacheta” (instrumental), “No hay
mas”, “Lo que hicimos” y otras. Las cuales fueron presentadas en lugares como
la radio “wayna tambo”, centro cultural “K’alaqaya Ayllu”, Centro Nuevo Mundo.
“LO QUE HICIMOS (letra: Alvaro
Choquetarqui)”, tema que fue grabado en
Full Sound Studios, en enero de 2012 con la colaboración de Elizabeth Llusco en
la voz. El tema da a conocer consecuencias medio ambientales que ya se empiezan
a vivir y que fueron provocados por nuestra y anteriores generaciones teniendo
una futura generación que pagaran las consecuencias de nuestros actos contra la
el planeta tierra.
